The first time I stayed at a bed & breakfast was when my wife and I went on our first anniversary vacation weekend. We knew we wanted to look away, we just were not sure where or what we wanted to do.
A colleague of hers showed her a book of bed & breakfasts’ around the United Proclaims. She brought the book home to me to have a look to see what I thought about going to one particular for our anniversary. With zero experience (at the time) and zero knowing of bed & breakfasts’ We had arrived a bit skeptical. Do you really want to spend my weekend staying in someone’s home?
The more I learn the bed & breakfast lifestyle, the more I came to be intrigued, until finally my girlfriend got hooked and we booked a bed & breakfast in upstate Vermont. I can honestly say it was a crank. The bed & breakfast owners treated us like royalty, waited on us like we were a king and queen, and meals is (that was included in purchase price) was simply unbelievable.
Since then my wife and I to be able to to two other bed & breakfasts, one in Williamsburg, VA and another in upstate Manhattan near Seneca Bay. Although the concept each bed & breakfast were similar, these folks were different in several different ways. For instance in Vermont at breakfast and dinner (both of which were included) we sat at individual table in the adjoining restaurant. In NY and VA we ate a massive table with every one of the other guests. In VA the owners took care of everything, well them and their kids. In NY and VT the owners ran the place but also had help to get rooms ready whilst keeping the place clean. In VT we had our own outside entrance to our own room as generally if the room was all of our house. In NY and VA you had your own bedroom in the same house with the additional guests.
Regardless of whichever style you choose, if you by no means stayed at a bed & breakfast you should. 1 was wonderful a person really felt like you were part of your owner’s family a person stayed there.
I would recommend first pick a place where you know you would cherish to stay. Do you like the mountain ranges? How about the sun or a tropical island? Once fully grasp what you really want to do, take a look up the bed & breakfasts all of the areas that you might have targeted and start reading up on them. Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other book stores have a diverse range of books you can search without purchasing to obtain this information. Also you can go to try your local library or look to your bed & breakfast directory online.
Once you are supported by the location and purchase it narrowed down one or two possible bed & breakfast choices, start pricing them out and hear if they are formed in your budget. Let me tell you that effectively a bit pricier then a normal hotel room (some of them anyway). However verify what sort of amenities you get for your price. Most come with breakfast, otherwise it just be called Bed & get out of my house in the time of day. You get the level. Some also serve dinner and offer afternoon tea & healthy. Find out what you obtain for your money. It will definitely help with your decision.
